Located within the dense urban fabric of Ataşehir, Istanbul, Nexus Ataşehir addresses its mixed-use program through a rational and sculptural volumetric composition. The project serves as a synthesis of two main vertical blocks—housing residential and office functions—and their direct and indirect relationships with the public realm at the ground level. The most characteristic architectural elements, the cantilevered structures and volumetric subtractions (voids) at the base, challenge the building's relationship with gravity while simultaneously defining semi-open public spaces and sheltered pedestrian axes. These volumetric maneuvers break the monolithic nature of the buildings, offering a dynamic perspective on an urban scale.

The facade configuration is built upon the tectonic properties of materials and functional differentiation. The contrast between brick surfaces, which reference traditional solid-void ratios, and modern, highly permeable glass facades transforms the programmatic divergence of the building into a visual language. While a more rational and rhythmic facade modulation is followed in the residential block, transparency and a sense of depth are prioritized in the office block. Terrace gardens and integrated landscape areas soften the harsh volumetric impact of the structures, creating micro-climatic comfort zones for users and strengthening the spatial fluidity between interior and exterior environments.

Sustainability is treated not merely as a technical metric but as a fundamental component of the architectural form. Photovoltaic panels integrated into the roof planes contribute to the building's energy cycle, while the layered facade structure optimizes natural light intake and supports passive climatization strategies. The commercial units on the ground floor, with their transparent storefronts and high-ceilinged volumes, serve as a seamless continuation of the street silhouette. By meticulously organizing the relationships between mass, void, and material, Nexus Ataşehir aims to introduce a new perspective to the region's architectural literature, focused on functional diversity and spatial flexibility.
